Volume setting doesn't persist through power cycles?

Hi, is there a way to make the Monumatic remember what volume I set it to? As it is right now I have to manually shift+attack to crank up the volume again after every power cycle. Or is this a bug that could be fixed with a firmware update?

Lovely module otherwise, enjoying mine a lot :-)

This was fixed in the first update which may not have shipped on earlier batches.

Monumatic firmware 1.1.2

I’ve just released a new firmware version.

  1. Bugfix: This fixes a bug in 1.1.1 that could cause voices to crash with midi pitch bend after reverting to factory settings.

  2. Arpeggio Feature: For those of you who like to use gate without voct to trigger chords, this has been enhanced to offer arpeggios when Mono is pressed. In poly mode, if voct isn’t patched, the gate will trigger the current chord since v1.1.1

  3. Brighter LED. The trigger button is now brighter and visible longer when showing note a activity.

Love my Monumatic, but....

Received my Monumatic today. I love it. It's truly a quantum leap over the Poly Cinematic (which I loved dearly until today). Fantastic job on the sound engine. Love (LOVE!) that I can drive it easily with my 1V/Oct sequencers.

But.... I despise the panel graphics. The panel colors on my module appear to be much darker than what they appear to be in the promo photos and the black lettering on those backgrounds is almost unreadable. I don't have the greatest eyesight in the world, but I didn't have any issues reading the panel on the Poly Cinematic. Good thing that many of the controls are similar to the PC so there's some muscle memory that overcomes the legibility issues of the panel. The Monumatic screams for an alternative panel that is more user friendly. Also I'm not a fan of those teeny tiny little black switches. Not easy…

Yes, to modulate pulse width you must assign cv to detune and connect to an lfo module. The pulse width is mapped 3 times across the detune range to cover 3 zones of unison, 5th and sub octave, so you need to adjust the range and offset of the lfo to get perfectly circular pwm sounds without also changing other parameters.

Alternatively the polymoog vox preset has pwm built in , detune varies the lfo speed and depth.

Hope that helps

Volume issues

Hello everyone,

I am having some issues getting acceptable (for me) volume levels out of the Monumatic. The output volume level seems to be a little low compared to many other modules I have. I've made sure to test this without any other gear in it's path. Also... the decay/sustain knob at the top seems to have too much impact on the volume level, depending on it's position. I've tested with both midi (playing with velocity here) and cv input. Has anyone else experienced this? And does anyone have any tips on how to solve this without amplification? Maybe I am missing something when it comes to settings on this module. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated :)

Kind regards,

Johannes

All the presets were matched to have the same RMS but there are many factors that change this (detune, resonance, overdrive ).The organs are mostly pure tones so not so dominant through the filters.
