When using V/oct and Trig, is there a way to have the release of notes ring out so that they overlap with each other? I was hoping to add polyphony without needing MIDI by having a series of notes triggered back to back and having them all playing at the same time. It's interesting that it does this behavior if playing with a MIDI keyboard but I don't think it can be replicated with CV.

Is the Polyphonic Firmware already available ?
Congrats, the module looks great, my module is coming.
Now my question. I have a module that converts midi from DAW to cv. The outputs (Cv and gate) from this module are enough to play polyphonically in Knobula PolyCinematics? Or do I need to connect a Midi DIN from my sound card (with the adapter of Knobula) to the module PolyCinematics?
Thank you in advance.
We have considered this feature already. There are 2 problems: at the moment the 7 detune values are calculated together, not for each voice, and secondly there are not enough spare knobs to do this intuitively (shift Detune is used for dynamic temperament micro-tuning) but I like the idea because it is a natural phenomenon when string sections play, their tuning is more detuned at the start.
This feature is now implemented in V2.1.0. To make it work requires cv control and putting the unit into ‘pluck mode’ by holding Shift and Trigger for 2 seconds .
Yes the V/Oct is sampled at the start of the note and held for the duration of that note. Its not as easy as it sounds because at the start of the note the V/Oct isn't constant as it is still changing from the previous note, particularly if the last note was 2 or 3 octaves away the result is often wrong, but luckily we had solved that issue already because the Chord Select input needed to be sampled at the start too. Now I am asking myself 'Should the V/Oct be quantised or not?' I might add it as a midiCC option but worried about feature bloating already. Currently the Poly C has two modes Poly and Mono, using midi this is either fully Polyphonic (poly) or Polyphonic Chords played on a single key at different pitches (mono), with CV control the opposite is true; so when you play via CV in Poly mode you get chords pitched and in mono mode you will now get overlapping polyphony a la Rings/Surface.
Still some testing to do before release but its a nice feature that complements the midi implementation well.
I was just thinking another plus would be that it would probably have to capture the V/oct when triggered, which is a nice change from the way most VCOs work where the pitch might change while the envelope decays. I didn't know about Surface, I was kinda thinking about Rings, either way the pad sounds and ADSR on Poly Cinematic are much different and sound more useful for the kind of music I make than either of these. Cheers!
Whoa thats awesome!! thank you!
Good news. Polyphonic cv trig will be appearing in the next firmware revision.
It would be really cool to get polyphony without MIDI! The module is also really great how it is
Currently it can’t be done with CV. It’s an interesting proposition though, similar in functionality to the qubit surface using an arpeggiated cv input to strum chords. I’ll look into it.
