Only 4 Preset Buttons Assignable

Coming back to the Chord Pilot after a break, so I’m not sure if I am just confused, but when I enter Preset mode I only have 4 (1-4) preset buttons available to assign chords to. Buttons 5-8 are dark and when holding any of them down and pressing the Circle encoder does nothing. I should be able to save chords to all 8 preset buttons, right? Am I doing something wrong?

It sounds like you are trying to edit empty presets. First you have to save a preset by holding the Audition/save button and choosing a preset destination.

Preset Query

Hello, just ordered one of these beauties, I also own the poly. Just curious about the chords already saved into the banks? How many of these banks are already loaded etc? Can someone please shed some light on this?

Issues with changing buttons via cv & gate

Hey,

Been loving my CP so far, but I'm running into an issue regarding the triggering and changing of chords, and wonder if you can suggest a work-around or fix.

I can't seem to get the cv buttons change to work at the same time as the trigger/gate input. I've tried with two of my sequencers. The module seems to recognize the gate before the cv-button change, and so it triggers the 'wrong' chord, which is making it difficult to arrange things.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

This is a known problem with cv gate control everywhere. The problem is that the CV is often changing drastically at the point where the gate signal arrives. This is normal and isn’t a bug in chord Pilot, but it isn’t noticeable with traditional CV oscillator control because the oscillator is updating its frequency all the time and, unless you have portamento, the CV lag is imperceptible to the ear. However with chord control the chord cannot be updated once it’s started, and we cannot waist valuable milliseconds waiting for the cv to settle on a final value, so there is a certain unpredictability in your use case. As a workaround for reliable chord triggering you will need to send the cv slightly before the gate, or delay the gate. Another option is to use separate sequences for the cv and gate.
